Rhea County High School football coaches will host the Rhea County Golden Eagles’ Football Camp, beginning on Monday, July 22, and finishing on Wednesday, July 24 at Eagle Stadium.
The camp will run from 9-11 a.m. daily, with registration starting at 8:30 a.m. on July 22. The cost is $40 per camper and the camp is open to any upcoming first through eighth-grader.

Tryouts for the Rhea County High School girls’ tennis team will be held within a few weeks after school starts. Exact dates and details will be announced later.
All incoming freshmen that wish to play football for the Rhea County High School freshmen football team will have practices, beginning on Monday, July 15, from 5:30-8 p.m.

The Dayton Little Eagles will have sign ups for the upcoming season at Rhea Central Elementary School on Saturday, July 20, and Saturday, July 27, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The cost is $80 per child. A discount is available for additional children and registration assistance is available. Limited roster spots are available, so act now. Also, weekly registration is available by contacting Josh Pelfrey at 423-504-2135.
The Dayton Little Eagles will also host a free football clinic the next two weeks at Rhea Central Elementary School on Mondays and Thursdays from 6-730 p.m. for kids age 4 to 12.

The Spring City Middle School [SCMS] football workouts will continue starting Monday, July 8, from 6 to 7:30 pm.
The workouts will be held at the football field of SCMS. The workouts will be every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Players are reminded to bring shorts, t-shirt and both tennis shoes and cleats.
Due to the TSSAA changing the regulations and the starting date of practices for the 2013 season, practice will begin now on July 22. Players will all need to have a physical before they are allowed to practice.
Prospective players can pick physical forms up at the school office or can print one off the TSSAA web site. New workout and practice schedules will be available on July 8 in the office or at the workouts. If anyone has any questions, please contact Mike Davis at 423-827-9961.
The Spring City Red Dogs will host a free football and cheer camp for boys and girls from Monday, July 22, through Friday, July 26, from 6:30-8 p.m. For more information call Lance Sullivan at 423-508-4710.
Sign up now for the RCHS Golden Eagle golf team annual select shot golf tournament, which is scheduled for Wednesday, July 31, with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. and lunch at noon at the Dayton Golf and Country Club.
The tournament entry fee is $60 per player and 240.00 for a 4-person team. 2-man teams are also welcomed. Closest to the pin awards, goody bags and first place and runner up prizes will be given.
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency [TWRA] will conduct a Hunter Education Class on Aug. 5, 6, 8 and 9, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Aug. 10, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.

The Tennessee Hills Golf Club will host a 9-hole potluck select shot tournament on Sunday, Aug. 18, with tee off set for 2:30 p.m. EST. Call 423-447-2304 no later than 1:30 p.m. EST on Aug. 18, to register.
Please sign up early if you plan on playing so organizers may plan for food and you are insured a spot. Organizers understand circumstances change and you may have to withdraw, but everyone is welcome, including kids, ladies, old timers and young limber backs.
Guest green fee with a cart is $15, with a $5 prize/expense fee and $1 closest to the pin fee. Bring your favorite dish or pay $5 to eat. Please advise if you plan on bringing a dish and if you are planning to eat or not.
Teams to be arranged by management, couples may play together and kids can play with parents. Try not to make a whole team from family, as the idea is to meet and play with different people.
You don’t have to be a golfer (few of us are), just have a great day enjoying the game and companionship.
