After seven top 10 finishes for the coveted FLW Angler of the Year [AOY] Award during his 18-year professional career, Dayton’s Andy Morgan claimed the trophy in his hometown on Friday afternoon at the Dayton Boat Dock, where the FLW Tour season finale began on Thursday and finished up on Sunday at the Dayton Walmart.
“The AOY is all about consistency, and there’s no doubt about it,” Morgan said. “I thought I had kind of blew it at Beaver Lake, Ark. when I had a 68th place finish. Other than that one though, it’s went well. I think I’ve had a seventh, an 11th, a 14th, a third and a fifth here and that’s the name of the game.
