Area youngsters have an opportunity to make new friends, enjoy group games, improve their fitness level, swim and participate in field trips at the Rhea County YMCA Day Camp. Registration is ongoing and scholarships are available for those who apply and qualify, Camp Site coordinator Wendy Vennie said.
“One of the important aspects of day camp is to incorporate wellness opportunities in a fun way. Kids like to be active. In our camp, participants are engaged in more than 150 minutes of play and physical activity during the summer,” Vennie said. “They track their progress and each camper is given credit for swimming, group fitness classes and walking. Parents also enjoy seeing how well they progress in the summer too.”
