Many Old Testament descriptions obviously are not to be understood literally. To do so is to stumble badly into error and arrive at ridiculous conclusions. In verse 20, for example, which says, “There shall be no more an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days,” the overall thrust of the prophet’s words is to say that in eternity, time no longer matters. In Heaven there will be no such thing as youth and old age as we know them now. It will be as if time stands still, so to speak.
