At a Spring City Commission meeting on Thursday, city officials voted down a state-recommended 4 percent property tax increase.
Spring City Mayor Billy Ray Patton said the state comptroller’s office recommended a nearly 11 cent property tax increase after property was assessed earlier this year, but commissioners said there was no need for the increase.
