A former Rhea County Animal Shelter volunteer who was arrested earlier this year on animal cruelty charges pleaded no contest to the charges in court on Tuesday.
Richard Orlwoske operated his own animal shelter, Save My Tail Animal Rescue, at his property on Back Valley Road in Evensville. However, when the Rhea County Sheriff’s Department began receiving animal cruelty complaints regarding the rescue, a search warrant was obtained. After searching the property, Orlowske was arrested in February and charged with animal cruelty after dogs were found malnourished and sick on his property.
