A Dayton man who was facing one charge of criminal trespassing is now facing several other charges, including felony jail escape, after his alleged attempt to escape from the Rhea County Jail on Thursday.
Jimmy Ray Byrd, 38, of Damron Street in Dayton, was originally arrested Thursday for criminal trespassing on a Damron Street property, according to an arrest report. However, while being booked into the county jail, Byrd allegedly attempted to escape, landing him a felony escape charge, the report states.
