During a batting exercise, Rhea County High School [RCHS] junior baseball player Caleb Zimmerman was struck in the head with a baseball on Thursday afternoon as the team was getting some last minute workouts in before traveling to Hixson for a game.
According to RCHS athletic director Micah Ruehling, Zimmerman was pitching in the RCHS batting cages and was accidentally hit in the side of his head with a baseball around the ear area.
