The Dayton City School (DCS) Lady Sweatbees fought their way into the finals of the TMSAA East Tennessee State Sectional Tournament Championship game in Sevierville on Saturday with a 10-point win in the opening round, a 2-point overtime win in the second round and a 1-point thriller in the semi-final game on Friday.

With the fierce competition at the 16-team tourney leading up to the championship game, DCS knew the final game wasn’t going to be a cakewalk either, especially with the opposing team boasting 6’3” seventh-grader, Sydney Pierce, as center.  The Gray Middle School Lady Knights outlasted the Lady Sweatbees 40-28, which ended a superb season for DCS at 26-4.
