I wish life could be like the good times on the television show Little House on a Prairie. Oh, those scenes of simple living: jubilant Father behind a horse and plow; unencumbered, smiling kids running through a field; cherub-like Mother churning butter on the front porch! Into town on Sundays for church and back to nature all week — and away from the burdens and dangers of the city — that's the life.

It's a house and life that appeals to escapist me. But I wonder: Is that the life God is asking me to live? Is that the life Jesus lived?
