Heralded as a person that helped to change the lives of many people in Rhea County, local long-time educator Eleanor Ray Brown Williams passed away on Saturday, Dec. 29, in Dayton.

Born in Pikeville and a graduate of Bledsoe County High School, Abels Business College, Bryan College and The University of Tennessee, she taught at Dayton City School and worked in Rhea County School Administration including holding the post of director of schools.
