The Rhea County Commission tabled a proposed $50 wheel tax on Tuesday, citing the need to further examine the county's fiscal situation before voting on the issue.

Commissioners said they will likely renew wheel tax talks in February, after a scheduled Jan. 26 workshop where commissioners plan to discuss jail overcrowding solutions.
