The Rhea County High School wrestling season got underway Monday night as the Golden Eagles played host to Signal Mountain. Rhea dropped a heartbreaker, falling to Signal by a final tally of 40-39.

Rhea's Kristen Simmons got things started for the Eagles at 106 pounds with a tough defeat at the hands of Gregory Drennan by virtue of pinfall. Josh LaCoe got RCHS on the scoreboard, posting an 11-4 decision over Frank Glascock at 120.
