Robert Lee Cover, 52, of Dayton and formerly of Gatlinburg, Tenn. died Saturday evening, Aug. 3, 2013, in a Chattanooga hospital. Robert was born in Knoxville on Feb. 15, 1961, and was a graduate of Rhea County High School class of 1979. He had been employed as both a cook and manager at restaurants in Dayton and Gatlinburg. He was a member of the Salem Baptist Church in Dayton and enjoyed fishing, hiking, reading and writing.
He is survived by his father, Jim (Sandra) Cover and his sister, Christy Cover both of Gatlinburg, Tenn.; niece, Lindsay McCown; great-niece, Grace Kenny and cousins, Robert Morgan and Jerri Morgan all of Dayton, Anna Weber of Coral Springs, Fla. and his aunt, Dr. Helen Morgan of Dayton.
Funeral services with military honors for Robert will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Vanderwall Funeral Home with Fr. Charles Livermore officiating. Graveside services and burial will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Wednesday after 5 p.m.
