Albert Clayton Mitchell, 84, of Dayton, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Rhea Medical Center.
A lifelong resident of Rhea County, he was the first person to retire from Polyloom Corp. He attended Walnut Grove Full Gospel Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothea Mitchell; son, Kenneth Mitchell; parents, Boss and Elizabeth Caraway Mitchell and two sisters, Virginia Suttles and Bessie Mitchell
Survivors include his son, James A. (Wanda) Mitchell; two daughters, Faye (James) Jordan and Pattie Massie; sister, Paralee McDonald and brother, Charles (Jan) Mitchell all of Dayton; eight grandchildren, Tammy (Chuck) Bradley, Holly (Jeremy) Majors, Amanda (Ronnie Shelton, Jamie (Jennifer) Jordan, Casie (Dustin) Morgan, Jennifer (Matt) Lee, Stephen Massie and Trevor (Cheri) Mitchell; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and best friend, Danny Reeves.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Pastor Eddie Suttles officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday.
