Dollie Mae Burton, 91, of Dayton, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 29, 2013 at Rhea Medical Center.
he was a longtime resident of Rhea County. She was a member of Garrison Baptist Church. She loved gospel music, planting flowers, watching hummingbirds and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Alvin A. Burton; son, Connie Mack Burton; grandson, Scott Burton; two brothers, James and Bernard Potter and two sisters, Nyla Potter and Geraldine Byrd.
Survivors include her daughter, Becky (David) Bishop of Dayton; sister, Mabel (Barnett) Hood of Dayton; four grandchildren, Michael (Heidi Bishop, Crystal (Jared) Piper, Johnathan (Emi) Burton and Amanda Burton and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to Rhea Medical Center and their staff, Dr. Bates, Dr. Logan and Life Care Center and staff.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Breeden officiating. Burial will be at Rhea Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m.
