Joe Dickson Corlew, 83, of Dayton died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013 in Chattanooga, Tenn. He was born Aug. 21, 1929 in Charlotte, Tenn. to the late William Parks and Thelma (Loggins) Corlew. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Ann (Mize) Corlew.
A resident of Dayton for the past 25 years, he retired from Dupont as a lab technician. He was a member of the Masons and he enjoyed fishing. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his son, Joe C. (Tama) Corlew of Cleveland, Tenn.; two daughters, Marcy (Ray) Epps of Houston, Texas and Tracy (Steve) Clift of Dayton; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services with military honors will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Vanderwall Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Herrell officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
