“Earl” Walcott Sr., 81, of Dayton, died Tuesday night, Feb 18, 2014, in
Dayton. He was born May 11, 1932,
in Patriot, Ind. to the late Carl and Mabel Shannon Walcott. He was also preceded in death by his
wife, Barbara Alice King Walcott.
of Dayton most of his life, Earl was an auto mechanic. He served his country in
the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he received the Purple Heart. He was
of the Baptist faith.
Earl is survived
by his son, Bobby Walcott Jr.; his daughters, Ann Riley, Alice (Raymond) Walker
and Sandra Armstrong all of Dayton and Bethany Routh of Dillsboro, Ind.; seven
grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Raymond Walcott of
Patriot, Ind. and Leonard Walcott of California.
services for Earl will be held Friday at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Vanderwall Funeral
Home with Rev. Bob Bunch officiating.
He will be laid to rest next to his wife in Smyrna Cemetery with
