Johnnie Hughes, 77, died Saturday, Feb. 15,
2014, at the Spring City Care Center.
Born in Wesbourne, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late John Robert
and Mary Ruth Stinnett Cofer. Johnnie was a retired hairdresser. She owned and
operated Johnnie’s Beauty Shop for 35 years. Johnnie was a loving wife, mother,
grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband,
William Hughes; her sisters, Jewell Fisher, Irma Dalphene and Mary Frances
Cofer and a brother, Charles Cofer.
Survivors include her sons, Willie (Karen)
Hughes of Dayton and Dewight Hughes of Evensville; daughter, Ida (Rex) Fugate
and Theresa (George) Fisher both of Evensville and Pam Morgan of Texas; brother,
Glen Cofer of Alabama; sisters, Iva Lee Shadden of
Rockwood, Tenn., Betty Cofer of Texas and Sue Allred of Alabama; eight
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11
a.m. in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald
officiating. Interment will follow in Smyrna Cemetery. The family will receive
friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.
