Albert Lee Drake Jr., 90 of Dayton, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at Life Care Center of Rhea County.
A longtime resident of Rhea County, he was retired from Combustion Engineering after 44 years. A veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II, he was a recipient of the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with one bronze service star, the Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was a member of Kelly Grove Baptist Church and the Dayton Masonic Lodge 512 F&AM.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella Roddy Drake; parents, Albert Lee and Maude Durham Drake Sr.; brother, Russell Drake and sister, Billie Corrigan.
Survivors include his three sons, Delbert (Leota) Drake, Rick (Wendy) Drake and Robert (Angie) Drake all of Dayton; four grandchildren, Kim (David) Schrimpsher, Cindy Clark and Zack and Drew Drake; one great-grandchild, Eli Schrimpsher and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Suttles and Rev. Aaron Revis officiating. Burial will be at Spence Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
