Betty Jo Hill, 78,
died Monday, June 17, 2013 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.
Born in Devonia, Tenn., Betty was the daughter of the
late James Ruben and Bess Lee Baird Cook. She was a graduate of Rockwood High School and was
a member of the Honor Society. Betty and her husband, Jessie Lindsay, moved from Elyria, Ohio
to the Kingston community 14 years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of the First
Assembly of God in Elyria. Betty was also an active member for many years in TOPS in Elyria, Ohio and Oak Ridge and Kingston, Tenn.
preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Jessie Lindsay Hill of Kingston; son,
Ron (Cynthia) Hill of Oberlin, Ohio; daughters, Donna (Henry) Dutton of Wellington, Ohio, Linda
(Charles) Grimmett of Amherst, Ohio and Rhonda (Kevin) Higgins of Ball Ground, Ga.; brother, Buddy
Cook of Plant City, Fla.; sister, Dinia Burnett of Rockwood, Tenn.; nine grandchildren and 13
Funeral services will
be held Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Dr. Melvin
Yeich officiating. Interment will follow in the Spring City Cemetery. The family will
receive friends Monday, June 24, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
