Hazel H. Price, 93, formerly of Anderson, Ind.,
passed away at her home on Saturday, April 20, 2013.
Born on Dec. 8, 1919, in Ovid, Ind., she was the
daughter of the late I. Thamer and Mabel Hoel. Hazel graduated from Markleville High School
and was part of the Markleville Alumni Association. She retired in 1977 from Guide Lamp
after 31 years. After retirement, Hazel and her husband, Carl, split their time between
Anderson and Spring City. In 1999, she made her home with her two daughters until they passed
away in 2002. Hazel then moved to Spring City permanently in 2003. She was a former member of
18th Street & Arrow Avenue Wesleyan Church, a member of the Lone Oak Wesleyan Church and
U.A.W.-C.I.O. Local #663. Hazel also attended Yellow Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl H.
Price; infant daughter, Mary Elizabeth Price; daughters, Linda Bradfield and Rebecca McBroom;
sisters, Lucy Ellen Hoel, Ruth Moore and Mary Lindzy and brother, Roland Clifford Hoel.
Survivors include her son, Paul Edward (Vicki) Price
of Spring City; son-in-law, Don Bradfield of Wellington, Ala.; grandchildren, Delise Rae Price
Memler, Paul Timothy Bradfield, Joel Alan McBroom, Sonja Jean Price Frost, Brian Anthony Bradfield,
Damon Trent Price and Joshua Aaron McBroom; 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and
A celebration of life will be held April 27, at 11
a.m. at the Lone Oak Wesleyan Church in Anderson, Ind. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial
Park Cemetery. Visitation will be April 26, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Brown-Butz-Diedring
Funeral Home in Anderson, Ind. and one hour prior to the services at the church on Saturday.
A memorial service will be held
Sunday, May 5, at 1:30 p.m. at Yellow Creek Baptist Church in Spring City with Rev. Clyde
Fitzgerald officiating. A luncheon for friends and family will be held prior to the memorial
service at noon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the
mission funds at Yellow Creek Baptist Church or Gideons International at www.gideons.org.
