Billy Bob Dannel, 71, died Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Rhea Medical Center.

Mr. Dannel was born in Grandview. He was the son of the late Jesse Floyd and Elizabeth Kemmer Dannel.  He was a graduate of Spring City High School, Class of 1956.  Mr. Dannel was a self-employed farmer and had worked for several years at SSM Industries as well as TVA.  He was a member of the Farm Bureau and N.R.A.  He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Dannel was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Mathis Dannel; and sisters, Jo Lee Cadle and Mary Sue McDade.

Survivors include his sons, Eddie Bob (Lorie) Dannel and Teddy M. Dannel both of Grandview; grandchildren, Willie, Justin, Taylor and Blake Dannel and Bethaney James; and great grandchildren Kane, Kendall, Keely and Riley Dannel.  

A graveside service with military honors will be held Thursday, Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Sulphur Cemetery with Rev. Hyle Waldo officiating.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, Feb. 10, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Vaughn Funeral Home.

Vaughn Funeral Home, Spring City is in charge of arrangements.
