Mable C. Burns, 91 died Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Spring City Care Center.

Mrs. Burns was a lifetime resident of Rhea County.  She was the daughter of the late Boog and Bertha Boles Cunningham.  She was a homemaker and a member of St. Clair Baptist Church in Spring City.

Mrs. Burns was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver James Burns; sisters, Reva Houston, Laura Houston, Eula Agee, Frances True and Lucille Cunningham; and brothers Loyd, Morgan, and Frank Cunningham,

Survivors include her daughter, Sue (Harold) Newby of Spring City; sisters Lois McCuiston of Spring City, Gladys Ledford of Rockwood, Tenn., and Betty Cole of Greer, S.C.; brothers, Fred and George Cunningham both of Spring City and Joe Cunningham of Rockwood, Tenn.; grandchildren, Patti Pritchett of Knoxville, Tenn., Amy (Paul) Bartley, and Pamela (Jim) Wright both of Spring City, and Jim (Robin) Newby of Dayton; great grandchildren, Justin and Benjamin Bartley, Joe and Beth Pritchett, Kari Dunworth, Kori Holland, Chelsea Wright and Cora Newby; and eight great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Sunday Feb. 7, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Newby officiating. Burial will follow in the Spring City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Feb. 6, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Vaughn Funeral Home of Spring City is in charge of arrangements.
