Johnny Ray Tollett, Sr.

Johnny Ray Tollett, Sr. died Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Rhea Medical Center.

Mr. Tollett was born in Cumberland County to the late Tom West and Ollie Mae Sherrill Tollett. He moved back to Rhea County in 1996 from Florida. Mr. Tollett was self-employed, working in construction industry as a roofer until he became disabled. He attended Victory Baptist Church in Spring City.

Mr. Tollett was preceded in death by a sister, Sally Tollett; and brothers, Ralph and Robert Tollett.

Survivors include his son, Johnny Ray Tollett, Jr. of Chicago, Ill.; sisters, Dorothy Miller of Grandview, Della Jean Brewer of Spring City, Jane, and Denton and Lounell Ballard both of Dayton; and brother Tommy Tollett of Corbin, Ky.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 3, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Reverend Paul Hinch and Reverend Frank Sherrill officiating. Burial will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery in Cumberland County, Tenn.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, Feb. 2, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Vaughn Funeral Home in Spring City is in charge of arrangements.
