John Lennon Kirkpatrick, 94, formerly a 44-year resident of Oak Ridge, Tenn., passed away on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Spring City, Tenn., and an associate member of Fairfields United Methodist Church in Burgess, Va. He first worked with American Industrial Transit and then was manager of James H. Moore Apartments until he retired in 1988. He lived full time in Spring City from 1988 until 2005 and then moved to be with his daughter in Heathsville, Va.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Nora Lee Kirkpatrick, and great-grandson, Christopher Scott Davis Jr.

He is survived by his daughter, Jilda (Jill) A. Davis and husband, Richard of Heathsville, Va.; sisters, Elaine Brown of Miss., Lozelle Collums of Miss., Nettie Henry of Miss., Faye Davis of Ga.; grandchildren, Richard O. Davis Jr., Christopher Scott Davis and wife, Amy, Melissa Anne Wiseman and husband, Rob; five great-grandchildren, Cameron and Mackenzie Wiseman, Mitchell and Jackson Davis, and his special little girl, Cindy Davis; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Central Baptist Church, Spring City, Tenn., on Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Spring City Cemetery in Spring City, Tenn.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Baptist Church Building Fund, Box 192, Spring City, TN 37381.
