Jakey "Jake" Hancock, 59 of Dayton, died Wednesday, July 1, 2009 in an area nursing home.

Mr. Hancock was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Hancock was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Georgia Hancock; sister, Anna Whittenburg; and brother, Oliver Hancock.

Survivors include his daughter, Michelle Gilbert of Ohio; grandchildren, Matthew Kyle Hancock and Bridget Gilbert; two sisters, Evelyn (Harold) Hamm of Murfreesboro, Tenn. and Janice Montgomery of Graysville; tow brothers, James C. Hancock of Primm Springs, Tenn. and Doyle Ray Hancock of Greeneville, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 3, at 3:30 p.m. CST in the chapel of Putnam-Reed Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rigsby Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, July 2, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. CST and Friday, July 3, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. CST.
