Connie Lynn Thurman, 51, died Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at her parents' home.

Ms. Thurman was a lifetime resident of Spring City.  She was the daughter of George Elmore and Wanda Manning Bostic.  Ms. Thurman was a graduate of Rhea County High School and was employed as a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for 13 years.  She was an avid golfer and a member of the Dayton Golf and County Club.  She was a member of Spring City Church of Christ.   

Survivors include her daughters, Shannon (Wayne) Daniels of Spring City and Randi Nicole (Alfred) Thurman of Spring City; parents, George and Wanda Bostic; brothers George Michael (Rose) Bostic of Cookeville, Tenn. and Sam (Cathy) Bostic of Spring City; granddaughter, Emily Paige Edwards of Spring City; special friend, Earl "Clevie" Thurman of Dayton; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 19, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Minister Don Howard officiating.  Burial will follow at Spring City Cemetery.  

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 18, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, P. O. Box 19269, Chattanooga, TN  37416.  The family would like to thank Nurse Carol Schmissrauter with Hospice of Chattanooga for her special care.

Vaughn Funeral Home of Spring City is in charge of arrangements.
