Harold Edward Mitts, of Dayton, died Saturday, June 13, 2009, at Rhea Medical Center.
Mr. Mitts attended Morgan Springs Baptist Church and loved hunting and fishing with his many friends.
Mr. Mitts was preceded in death by his father, John Mitts; mother, Hattie Morgan Marler; and sister Margaret Rice.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Mitts of Dayton; two children, John Mitts of Dayton and Cheri Dodson of Evensville; one brother, Herbert Mitts of Dayton; five sisters, Loretta Louallen of Graysville, Marion Simms of Chattanooga, Tenn., Louise Webb of Dayton, Ina Roach of Red Bank, Tenn., and Carolyn Carney of Dayton; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 16, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Jewell and Speaker Richard Simms officiating. Burial was at Rigsby Cemetery.
