Catherine Patton, 82, of Graysville, died Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at Rhea Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Patton was born in Nashville, Tenn., the daughter of the late James Earl Jones and Frances & Eugene Halpin. She was a loving mother and grandmother who had a great love for live plants, ceramic ducks, and jewelry, of which she was an avid collector. She retired from Oster Corporation. She was of the Church of God faith.
Mrs. Patton was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Willie Franklin Patton, Sr.; daughter, Barbara Dunn; son, Teddy Patton; grandson, J.P. Everett; granddaughter, Nettie Smith; brother, Ben Jones; sister, Betty Halpin; and daughter-in-law, Charlotte Sue Patton.
Survivors include her two sons, Willie F. Patton, Jr. of Dayton and Robert (Red) Patton of Chattanooga, Tenn.; five daughters, Mary (Danny) Everett of Graysville, Rose Brown of Nashville, Tenn., Shirley Brooks of Spring City, Betty Mays of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Janice (Paul) Vineyard of Evensville; two brothers, Madwell Halpin of Oklahoma and David Halpin of Pleasantview, Tenn.; three sisters, Jane Ann Spogeue, Mammie McCormick and Hester Gray all of Nashville, Tenn.; 18 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; three great-great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 13, at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Coutler Garrison Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will be at Pleasantview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends, Thursday, June 11 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and all day Friday, June 12 at the funeral home.
