Margaret D. Miller, 89, died Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at NHC HealthCare, Athens in Athens, Tennessee.

Mrs. Miller was born in Spring City, the daughter of the late Thomas and Bess Cash Darwin and was a graduate of Spring City High School, Class of 1938.  She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked for Chamberlain Memorial Hospital in Rockwood, Tenn. for 14 years before her retirement in 1990.  She was a member of the Spring City United Methodist Church.   

Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husbands, Wallace Coulter, Harold Hart, and Newell Miller, Sr.; daughter, Carlene Massengell; and brother, Jack Darwin.

Survivors include her son, Clay (Mary) Coulter of Spring City; stepsons, Joel Miller of Kingston, Tenn. and Newell Miller, Jr. of Goshen, N.Y.; sister, Dorothy Tinsley of Orlando, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 13, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with the Rev. Dale Wyrick officiating.  Burial will be at Spring City Cemetery.  

The family will receive friends Friday, June 12, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Vaughn Funeral Home of Spring City is in charge of arrangements.
